San Luis Obispo County Upcoming Elections and Voting Process

With local elections coming up, the San Luis Obispo Democratic Party is active in helping the county locals to register into Democratic voting. If you are a citizen of the United States, of legal age, not in prison or on parole for a felony and resides in San Luis Obispo County in central coastal California, you should register yourself to actively participate in any electoral processes that would take place in the state or in the country as a whole. Elections for congressional district, senate district and assembly district would require you to be registered. The San Luis Obispo Democratic Party is actively recruiting voters to adhere to the Democratic principles. If a Democratic Party volunteer approaches you either personally or by social media, be informed of the process for registering and electing.

First, the volunteers will update you of the endorsed Democratic candidate for the district of San Luis Obispo. The volunteers would give you information on registering for the elections as well (this would be during the registering period). If you are already a registered voter, you would be given information on finding your voting place or you can direct yourself to an unbiased online election information provider like Smart Voter and you can enter your zip code and your current street address to come with results on where your voting place would be. Your personal information will be secured.

On Election Day, if you cannot personally cast your vote, you can vote by mail granting that you have already requested for a vote-by-mail ballot which is released 29 days prior an election. 7 days before the election, you should appear before the County Clerk-Recorder and fill up an application on why you cannot appear personally at the polls on Election Day. Remember that vote-by-mail ballots cannot be requested through phone.
