San Luis Obispo County’s political aspect can be viewed as stable and non-chaotic. For a county situated along the central coast of the California State, separating the cities San Francisco and Los Angeles, the political scene can be considered predominantly Republican but in the recent presidential elections, 51.2% of the votes went to a democrat candidate whom is Barack Obama. In spite of the political differences with Republican principles dominating the county, the San Luis Obispo Democratic Party exists for the people of California.
The coastal part of San Luis Obispo, which is the 23rd congressional district of the United States, is held by the Democratic Party headed by Democrat Lois Capps. The Republican thus held the inland part of San Luis Obispo with Republican Kevin McCarthy as the representative. Still, the growing number of democrat voters is growing for San Luis Obispo because of active representatives and volunteers who are working their way to promote the democratic political views in the county. It may be a lot of hard work but the end result can be worth it as evidenced by the last presidential elections.
Among the goals of the San Luis Obispo Democratic Party includes being the voice of the Democratic Party as a whole and supports and participates in electing the democratic candidate for elections. The San Luis Obispo Democratic Party holds fund raisers, supports other local democratic clubs and helps and recruits voters to support the Democratic principles and visions for the United States. These goals are usually accomplished with dedicated volunteers who perform call brigades, rallies and active dissemination of information through social networking sites and public political websites or forums that could garner the Democratic Party support for upcoming elections and other county events.
